Okay so this took over 3 hours ( 
), but that's what happens when you are experimenting with a crapy reference.
Yes, his hair looked somewhat like that, and I only used three colours for it. Thank god for the smudge tool.
The reference also had his eyes open, but after MUCH, MUCH hair pulling I decided to make his eyes closed.
