The completed version of my Cardboard Lime Butterfly.

It took about 6 hours to do the main body, and much much longer to do the wings. Everything except the antenna and legs are made out of cardboard.

After I got it back, three of its legs fell off, and its left wing was in the process of falling off. If it seriously only took 4 days to end up like that, I wonder what it looks like now. O___o

beautiful!
I'm glad you got to take some shots while it was in one piece
:iconnarcolepticpenguin:
Thank you! :D
Actually these shots were taken AFTER I repaired it. ^^; And surprisingly the butterfly became more stable. O_O
:iconbalacenia:
Really? well, i never would have guessed!
That's good. You knew more about how it would want to stand, I guess =)
:iconpikakun:
Cor, that's well done. I love it. Bugs are sweet. Looks really complicated to put together though ><

question: why butterfly? there's tonsa other easy bugs you coulda chosen.
:iconkko-nut:
So when do I pick up the rest of your stuff?

some days it's just not worth gnawing through the restraints

To be honest, I have no idea. They're suppose to e-mail me, telling me the actual date. Until then, I suppose they'll wait till June or August.
:iconnarcolepticpenguin:
Thanks! :D
It was complicated at first. Well mainly the wings, cause I thought it had two instead of four of them...for some weird reason.

True. To be honest, I'm not positively sure why I choosed the butterfly. The fact that it had to be gigantic (ish) and be able to stand on its own legs might have to do with it. Or possibly because the details in its wings would prove to be a bigger challenge. Also, we were shown some example of previous student works, and I didn't really want to copy some of the bugs that were shown (like the dragonfly, a grasshopper, a bee etc). Which bug would you have done if you had to do this?

...and now that I think of structure and all, I wonder how my friend did with making her flea stand up...

wow, looks awesome, too bad it fell apart!!
:iconregis-of-few-skills:
ahahaha, it may look like a butterfly, fly like a butterfly, but it falls apart like a house of cards. lol
but at least it looks perdy ^^
